DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING

The Department of Computer Engineering was established in the year 1999 with an intake of 40. Intake was subsequently increased to 60. The department has a research center with PhD programs.

Vision

To develop socially committed professionals in Computer engineering for fulfilling the needs of society and industries.

Mission

1. To provide theoretical foundation with laboratory exposure and essential infrastructure.

2. To provide platform for the interaction with industry personnel.

3. To inculcate social awareness through co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Objectives & Outcomes

Program Educational Objectives(PEOs)

After successful completion of the program, the graduates will be able-

1 : To engage in lifelong learning to adapt with rapidly changing technologies in the field of computer engineering.

2 : To work effectively in team and exhibit ethical responsibilities.

3 : To strengthen the knowledge in multidisciplinary areas of engineering.

Program Specific Outcomes(PSOs)

1 : Demonstrate knowledge of programming, data science, operating system and computer network security.

2 : Apply professional computer engineering practices and strategies for the design, development, operation and maintenance of software.

Program Outcomes(POs)

Engineering knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

Problem Analysis : Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

Design/Development Solutions : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Conduct investigations of complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern tool usage : Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

The engineer and society : Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Environment and sustainability : Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Ethics : Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

Individual and team work : Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

Communication : Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Project management and finance : Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

Life-long learning : Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Message from HOD

Greetings and welcome to the department of Computer Engineering. That department was established in 1999 with an intake of 60 and academic year 2024-25 is a silver jubilee year of the department. The intake of the department has increased to 120 seats from A.Y. 2024-2025. The department also has a Research Centre with an intake of 10 seats and 9 research scholars pursuing their PhD.
The department has a vision to create technical manpower in the field of Computer Engineering to serve the society and industry. The department provides state-of-the-art laboratory and infrastructure facilities, experienced and highly qualified faculty members. The department has strong ties with industry and alumni. The department follows outcome-based education and gives a lot of flexibility by offering multiple electives, Honour/Minor courses. Our students are well placed in the top most IT industries and working on key positions. We look for holistic development of students.
We welcome all the aspiring engineers to join the program. All the best wishes!
